David, age 39, has come to us from St. Paul United Methodist Church in El Dorado, AR.  He has been there the past two years as pastor.  He previously served at Danville United Methodist Church for 6 years and Russellville First United Methodist Church, as associate pastor, for six years.  He is from the Ft. Smith area and his father was a United Methodist minister as well.

David has a BA in Philosophy & Religion from Hendrix College, a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology, and a MS in Community Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas.

David is married to Beth who is a math teacher.  They are child free.  David has served as the secretary, and currently as Chair of Ministerial Assessment, for the Arkansas Conference of Board of Ordained Ministry. 

Zach Underwood

Zach graduated in May from Ashbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky with a Masters in Divintiy. His wife Kerry, will be attending the Ft. Smith Campus of John Brown University to get her Masters in Family and Marriage Counseling. Both Zach and Kerry attended Ark. Tech, receiving their bachelors degree and were very involved with the Wesley Foundation.

Margaret Ball

Margaret is a native of Greenland, AR, and graduated from Greenland High School. She received a degree in accounting from Westark Community College in Fort Smith, AR. After working 21 years with Plastics Research and Development Corporation (Pradco) in Fort Smith she retired to stay home with her son. Margaret became a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church in 1986, and she joined the Greenwood United Methodist Church Staff in November of 1995.

Margaret is a member of the United Methodist Women, Wednesday Night Prayer Group, Children's Committee, and the Kitchen Sunday School Class.  Margaret has one son, Matt, who is a graduate from the University of Arkansas with a degree in accounting and lives in Fayetteville.

Dana Higgins

Children's Minister

Dana is a native of Russellville, AR. She holds a B.S. degree in Health Information Management from Arkansas Tech University. Dana's specialty in the healthcare arena has been in Oncology. In addition to being our Children's Minister, she is currently employed by the Greenwood School system.

Dana and her family joined the Greenwood United Methodist Church in 2000 by transfer of membership from Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock, AR. Prior to joining the GUMC staff in 2004, Dana had served on the Children's Committee as an intrigal member.

Dana is a member of the GUMC Sunday School "Kitchen Class." She also serves as the Vice-President of the Sebastian County Boys and Girls Club. She has  served as the Chairperson for the United Way's Greenwood District in 2004 and 2005. Dana and her husband, Scott, have two sons: Jake and Max.
